A close friend asked for me to design his next tattoo that he’s been talking about for a while. I got it fairly quickly I’m happy to say, and it looks like he’s getting it this weekend! I can’t wait to see how it comes out. The wing will fold over onto his chest and the brick wall should start where his arm meets his chest. This was all done blindly, so I’m hoping the tattooist is able to work with this easily.

For the past 4 days I’ve been doing a photo study to try to train my eye to see color, and to see if I can make something boring interesting. I’ve always avoided random pictures of buildings, and then I wonder why the hell I can’t draw a window. I have so much studying to do, my brain’s library has a few empty sections…

I’ve always loved Dali’s work, but I never saw this come to light. The animation is beautiful, they did a wonderful job realizing his work into animated form.

Need to be studying faces more, I still struggle to draw one from scratch and I’ve just been putting it off. Will be doing a lot of portraits, thought I’d start with some old friends:
